Better Meats' veal is from calves that are both consuming grass and their dam's milk. With our rotational practices, our veal has turned out to be superior quality and tasting beef. You can see what people have said about our veal under the "Testimonials" page 

$3.61 Hanging Weight

To follow FDA laws, we sell our meat by hanging weight. Once the processor has removed the uneatable parts (the head, hooves, interior organs etc.), the carcass is then weighed--hanging weight. This weight is not the amount of meat you are going to take home. After all the processing, the meat that you take hope can be up to 40% less than the carcass weight.

How much meat can I expect to take home?

From a veal you can expect about 160lbs of take home meat. This would equal out to being $5.31 per lb finished weight.

Preordering is required for purchasing veal.

All veal orders must be placed by May 1 for veal that year. We only produce veal during the spring and early summer due to the fact that this creates the best tasting veal.
